While the Yankees continue to struggle since the trade deadline, former outfielder and failed trade acquisition Joey Gallo is enjoying himself in Los Angeles.

With Gallo’s Dodgers clinging to a 5-4 lead over the Twins in the bottom of the seventh, the lefty slugger was called on to pinch hit with two outs, and he cleared the bases with a loud three-run home run to the opposite field for his first homer with his new team.

“It's been a while since I've heard people chanting for me, so I'm pretty excited about that,” Gallo said. “They’ve been awesome so far, just cheering me on, saying they love that I’m here. It makes me feel good.”

Gallo says he has been going over some adjustments with the Dodgers coaching staff to try and find his All-Star ways from his time in Texas, before being traded to the Yankees and hitting just .159 before being traded at the deadline. It worked on Wednesday night.

“We’ve been working on a lot of stuff…we’ve definitely been working a lot,” Gallo said. “I think one of the reasons they brought me over was because they saw something they felt they could fix and help me be the player I know I can be.”

When Gallo was traded, he left the best team in baseball, and now, he is still on the best team in the league since the Dodgers have rattled off 10 straight wins.

“It’s been special,” Gallo said. “I came from a team that was winning a lot, and now this team is winning even more…it’s a special group of guys.”
