The Yankees have signed Vanderbilt OF Spencer Jones (No. 25 overall), Cal Poly RHP Drew Thorpe (No. 61, Round 2), Gonzaga RHP Trystan Vrieling (No. 100, Round 3), Oregon OF Anthony Hall (No. 130, Round 4) and LSU RHP Eric Reyzelman (No. 160, Round 5).

No signing bonus terms were announced by the team, but according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis, Jones ($2,880,800), Thorpe ($1,187,600), Hall ($456,500), and Reyzelman ($340,700) all received their full slot bonus.

In addition, according to Callis, the team has agreed to a $210,000 signing bonus with 11th-round pick Ryan Harvey, a hard-throwing RHP from UC-Santa Barbara. Slot bonus for 11th through 20th-round picks is $125,000, so $85K of Harvey’s bonus would count against the Yankees’ bonus pool, per MLB Draft rules.

Teams can exceed their bonus pools by up to five percent without penalty, a practice the Yankees routinely take advantage of. The Yankees’ total pool this year was $6,428,600, so a five percent overage gives the Yankees roughly an extra $321K to spend, with $85K of that already reportedly earmarked for Harvey.
