The Yankees begin a big series with the Blue Jays in Toronto on Monday night, and aside from Joey Gallo nursing some groin tightness, the team will be at full strength.

That wasn’t always a given considering the team’s reported COVID-19 vaccination numbers prior to the start of the season, but weeks after reporting that the remaining players had received their shots, Jon Heyman reports that all Yankee players made it into Toronto for an early battle for AL East supremacy.

The red-hot Anthony Rizzo wasn’t vaccinated late last season, and Aaron Judge was another rumored member of the clubhouse not yet vaccinated back in April, when there were concerns that unvaccinated players couldn’t suit up for home games in New York City before mayor Eric Adams tweaked the private sector mandate. Given that Rizzo and Judge have been the team’s most valuable hitters to start the season, not having them against Toronto would have been crippling.

Instead, it appears to be all systems go for the three-game set that will immediately put the Yankees’ nine-game winning streak to the test.
