Shohei Ohtani has reached a level of stardom that the Yankees are now selling his jersey in their team store.

With Ohtani’s Angels in town for a three-game series this week, Ohtani’s jerseys were seen on the rack at the Yankees Team Store inside Yankee Stadium before Tuesday’s series opener in the Bronx.

While Ohtani was hitting batting practice home runs over the batter’s eye, or while he was blasting a two-run home run in his first at-bat of the series, fans were passing by his jersey surrounded by Yankees merchandise.

Ohtani is a global superstar, and his home run on Tuesday night came on the 100th anniversary in which fellow two-way star Babe Ruth homered to open up the original Yankee Stadium.

Now, fans wonder if Ohtani will follow in Ruth’s footsteps and join the Yankees this winter, though it seems like other teams will be more financially committed to bringing in Ohtani. Still, the Yankees are making a buck off of his name, and highlighting how much of a star Ohtani has become.
