INKSTER (WWJ) - Police are investigating an apparent shootout in Inkster that left at least one person injured.
The incident unfolded just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Carlton Street, in a neighborhood along Middlebelt Road north of Michigan Avenue.
Troopers responded to the scene and discovered that people inside two separate cars were involved in the shooting.
A Chevy Malibu was found at the scene, while a Chevy Impala was found at a nearby hospital. The driver of the Impala was also located and is being interviewed.
Police say one person suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Other circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately clear.
The incident remains under investigation.
