WWJ -- Summer is just around the corner and families all across metro Detroit are looking for something fun to do.
For those looking into summer camps, WWJ's Brooke Allen has been looking into a wide array of places to send the kids this summer.
Here are five fun, engaging and exciting options in the area:
The Detroit Tigers are a Michigan summer staple and they're offering youth camps at 12 sites across the state of Michigan -- 11 in metro Detroit -- this summer. Each camp will feature four days on site, culminating with a special V.I.P. trip to Comerica Park, where campers will get a hitting instruction from an assistant hitting coach, tour the dugout, meet a player and make lifelong memories.
“We swallow them in a Detroit Tigers experience that hopefully they will remember for the rest of their lives,” Jim Rappé, Executive Director Detroit Tigers Baseball Camps, told WWJ.

Visit the Tigers website for more information on camp activities, all 12 locations and prices.
Summertime is all about sleeping in and playing. But for students who learn differently, the lack of routine can cause anxiety -- for both parents and kids.
Eton Academy in Birmingham is aiming to help with that anxiety. The school, which specializes in helping students who learn differently, is holding a number of camps focusing on a multitude of skills over the summer, beginning in late June. Eton's Summer Programs Director Jamie Conway says their camps offer something for every student.
"We take all shapes and sizes. If a student has ADHD, or autism, or some behavioral challenges, we are open to that," Conway told WWJ's Brooke Allen. "And if you’re just a student looking for a summer camp to keep yourself engaged and off the iPads in a week of the summer, we’re here for them, too."

Eton offers a multitude of different themes, activities and experiences for all ages. Visit their website for more information on the available camps.
If your kids love nature and you're looking for a summer camp, you may want to head to Livingston County.
The Howell Nature Center is spread across 230 acres and includes a wildlife rehabilitation clinic and an adventure education center. Camp Wonder offers a variety of summer camps for kids looking to get in touch with nature over the summer.
Tom Correll, program manager at the center, says it’s the perfect place to host nature-based summer camps for kids in grades K-8.

A nature hike, a pond study, or an introduction to Yeti, the snowy owl. Those are just some of the things kids will experience during the summer camps at the Howell Nature Center.

The YMCA offers day camps at 12 locations across metro Detroit and even a pair of overnight camps further away in Michigan.
Among the day camps is one on Belle Isle in the Detroit River, where kids will get to swim, kayak, enjoy the outdoors, and much more.

Looking to send the kids away for an entire week? The YMCA offers two week-long overnight camps.
Camp Ohiyesa in Holly offers a different theme for each week, ranging from pirates, to Star Wars, to a "battle of the bands."

The Pistons Academy is offering summer basketball camps for boys and girls grades 3-9 loaded with instruction, games, fun and Pistons entertainment.
There are 19 different camp locations throughout metro Detroit and three destination camps -- in Lansing, Grand Rapids and Mt. Pleasant -- and one camp is even held at Little Caesars Arena, home of the Pistons.

"It does not matter if you are a shy beginner or a confident superstar, we have an excellent staff of coaches that are trained to teach at really any level," said Geo Thomas, director of the Pistons Academy. "So when you come into our camp, we always have two goals – to make you a better basketball player and to have fun."
