(WWJ) A 5-year-old Pontiac girl has been taken into child protective services custody after being found nearly overdosed while in the care of her mother.
The girl was found by Oakland County Sheriff's deputies at her home -- appearing to be under the influence of some kind of drug.
Her mom said the child could have taken a handful of her tranquilizers. Fire responders were called to the scene, after they took a call earlier this summer for something similar -- the child took a bottle of aspirin.
She was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for further treatment. Charges have yet to be filed against the 31-year-old mother.
