(WWJ) A social justice activist was struck and injured by a motorcyclist -- she believes intentionally -- while she was painting the slogan Black Lives Matter on a roadway in Lansing.
Emily Dievendorf was not seriously injured during the incident that happened Friday evening outside the Michigan Capitol Building.
"There were two bikes and they kept going even after making impact with my body straight on. I only remember landing," Dievendorf wrote on Facebook.
Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt told freep.com a suspect has been identified and gave police a statement.
While she escaped any broken bones, Dievendorf said she was traumatized by the incident.
"My body hates moving. I dropped on the back of my head and slid on my back and the back of my arms and the bike, it seems, took some nice chunks out of my leg. I’m a walking set of deep bruises. But maybe that’s it. I have to watch for a concussion. I’m super grateful not to be broken into pieces," she wrote.
She added that the motorcyclist, she believes, had been circling and attempting to intimidate the protesters before impact.
