DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit man has been taken into custody following an hours-long standoff with police.
The incident unfolded around 8 a.m. Saturday at a home on Varjo Street, in an east side neighborhood off Van Dyke Avenue just north of McNichols Road.
The man allegedly pointed a shotgun at a cab driver who had just dropped off a woman at the home. The cab driver sped away and called 911. When officers responded, the man refused to come out of the house.
After several hours of negotiating, the suspect surrendered to police.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
