(WWJ) The candidates and surrogates are out in force today in Michigan ahead of tomorrow's primary election.
And as they converge, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer called into WWJ Newsradio to reiterate her support for former vice President Joe Biden.
"He is a public servant at heart who has had Michigan's back when we needed it most," she said live on air. "During the auto rescue, it was Barack Omaba and Joe Biden who stepped up for Michigan. Because of that, our economy is strong today. Our nation's economy benefitted. And they did it because it was the right thing to do."
Whitmer officially endorsed Biden, who will rally in Grand Rapids this afternoon. Then, after an early evening, private fundraiser in Detroit, Biden will share the stage with Senator Kamala Harris at Renaissance High School at seven p-m.
Senator Bernie Sanders will participate in an mid-afternoon invitation-only round table with health officials about the coronavirus at The Westin Hotel at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Then, at 6:30 p.m., Sanders will take part in a Fox News town hall from the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus.
Meanwhile, the President's daughter-in-law Lara Trump will rally with members of the White House and Republican National Committee communications team.
That event takes place at 6 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Marriott in Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest. The event is free but registration is required.
