CANTON (WWJ) - Canton police are increasing patrols in all neighborhoods and school zones following a suspicious incident near a school bus stop.
According to investigators, a student from Plymouth-Canton Community Schools reported to her bus driver that a man was following her slowly in his vehicle asshe walked away from the bus stop -- in the area of Crowndale and Overhill, just east of S. Beck Rd. -- at around 3:40 p.m. Thursday.
She reported the suspicious vehicle to her driver, who also stated she saw the vehicle. The student described the subject as black male she didn't know, driving a tan four-door car.
"Police and school officials encourage parents to use this as an opportunity to discuss safety reminders and 'stranger danger' with your children. All suspicious incidents or encounters should be reported immediately."
The child in this case was not hurt.
