DETROIT (WWJ) - A young man is hospitalized, according to police, after was he was shot while allegedly trying to break into a west side Detroit home.
Detroit police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that shots were fired at the 19-year-old suspect by a female homeowner in the 20000 block of Avon Ave., in the area of 8 Mile Rd. and the Southfield Freeway.
The alleged intruder was wounded, police said, and was listed in temporary serious condition Wednesday.
What charges may be filed are not known, and other circumstances are unclear at this time as police have not released any more details.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
