(WWJ) Four people were killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash involving two SUV's that collided at an intersection in St. Clair County.
Michigan State Police are now investigating the cause behind the crash at the corner of Broadbridge and Starville Roads, just west of Marine City. It happened at 4:05 p.m.
Information is limited except that three of the four victims were ejected from the SUVs and the impact sent both vehicles off the road.
One of them came to rest 40 yards into the woods and one caught fire.
Police needed an excavator to retrieve them and investigators spent hours re-constructing the collision.
Preliminary findings show one of the SUVs was westbound on Broadbridge when it hit the other, which was headed southbound on Starville.
Michigan State Police identified the victims only as a 37-year old man from Lapeer, a 34-year old man from New Baltimore, a 40-year old man from Cottrellville Township and a 37-year old woman from Cottrellville Township.
