Detroit Man Charged In Sexual Assault Of 14-Year-Old Almont Girl

DETROIT (WWJ) - An investigation by multiple police agencies led to the arrest of a Detroit man accused of sexually assaulting a girl from Lapeer County. 

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 21-year-old Prince James Lewis with four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Sexual Assault – Fourth Degree.

The investigation began on Monday, when Redford police responded to a call at a drug store on 5 Mile Rd. There, police said, officers found a 14-year-old Almont girl who reported she was sexually in the 16200 block of Fenton St. in Detroit. 

Details about what led police to Lewis are unclear at this time. Prosecutors said more complete facts and evidence in the case will be presented during further court proceedings. 

Lewis was arraigned Thursday afternoon before 36th District Court Magistrate Millicent Sherman, who set bond at $150,000/10%. A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 14, followed by a Preliminary Examination on May 21.
