DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are asking the public to help identify three men wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a child on Detroit's east side on Friday.

Authorities say around 3:30 a.m. Friday an unknown suspect entered a home in the 5000 block of Beaconsfield, near Warren Avenue west of Outer Drive, and sexually assaulted a minor child. Police say after the incident, the suspect allowed two other suspects into the home. He then attempted to rob two women, ages 65 and 32, that were inside the home, but was unsuccessful.

As the suspects were leaving the home, the man who committed the sexual assault fired a shot at one of the victims and then fled the location in a black SUV with the other two suspects.

Authorities did not release the age of the child that was assaulted.

Detroit police released sketches of two of the three suspects involved in the incident.

One suspect is described as a 16-year-old black male, about 5-foot-8, 105 lbs., with brown eyes, medium brown complexion, slim build and long, knotted curly hair. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, white pants and white shoes.

Another suspect is described as a 20-year-old black male, about 5-foot-10, 110 lbs., with dark brown complexion, dark brown eyes, a slim build, short, knotted hair and a black stringy mustache and goatee. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black boots.

No description was available for the third suspect.
