DETROIT (WWJ) - A stretch of I-75 in Detroit was closed for several hours Thursday morning while Michigan State Police were investigating a fatal accident.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. along the northbound side of the freeway near the Milwaukee Avenue overpass, just north of I-94.
Police say alcohol or drug use may be factors in the crash. An investigation is continuing, pending reconstruction work and autopsy results for a cause of death.
Northbound I-75 was shut down at the I-94 interchange for nearly seven hours as police were investigating the scene, but has since reopened to traffic.
