EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - Eastpointe police are investigating a shooting that had a neighborhood on edge overnight.
Police got calls from several residents in the area of Tuscany and Oak, near Gratiot and 9 Mile, just before 11 p.m. Wednesday about the sound of gunshots.
As officers responded, another call came in from a woman saying her boyfriend had been shot inside their home. Officers found the man lying inside the front door of his home with several gunshot wounds to the chest.
The 28-year-old was taken to a local hospital and last reported in critical condition.
Police say it appears two men walked up the home and fired gunshots through the front door. They fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle that was last seen traveling north toward 9 Mile Road.
The suspects are described only as males wearing dark clothing.
