DETROIT (WWJ) - Wednesday, May 13, 2020 is Top Gun Day! The blockbuster hit, starring Tom Cruise, was released over three decades ago.
Top Gun hit the big screen on May 16, 1986. Millions of people around the world felt the need for speed when Maverick, Goose and Iceman took us all to the danger zone.
Now, to celebrate the film's enduring popularity, Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing Top Gun for the very first time on 4K Ultra HD Digital. And on May 19th, it'll also be made available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Both the digital and disc releases will include a brand-new featurette that explores the film’s legacy and enduring popularity through new interviews with star Tom Cruise, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and members of the cast of the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick, including John Hamm, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, and several others.
