It appears to be a happy ending for a community movement to see Governor Gretchen Whitmer in luxury eyewear known as "Buffs".
After an internet meme and a parody rap song gained traction, a GoFundMe site was started to raise the money needed to buy the sought-after Cartier glasses.
Hutch's Jewelry was the go-to shop to get the Buffs. Hutch's Jewelry Brand Ambassador Darrel Hasty told the story of how GmacCash knew where to turn.
"We've had a relationship with him for a couple of years. He made a music video in our store for his song "White Buffs", explained Hasty.
The frames were purchased by GmacCash for $2500. Since Gov. Whitmer can't accept gifts worth more than $25. GmacCash tweeted that the money from the fundraiser will be donated to community organization New Era Detroit.

There's also still a possibility we'll see a real photo of Gov. Whitmer with Buffs on according to the tweet.
The YouTube video for "Big Gretch" has more than 230,000 views since posting Saturday, May 2.
Gov. Whitmer has been criticized by President Trump and multiple protests have occurred at the capitol building in Lansing as well as near her home. Some are eager to see the economy open up and are upset over the stay home orders meant to slow the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
The lyrics point to the honor associated with wearing the glasses. GmacCash is heard saying in the song, "Throw them Buffs on her face, cuz that's Big Gretch," Many have taken to social media superimposing Buffs on those with swagger, and influence.
"They're the most popular glasses in hip hop. It's what everybody wants and what everybody raps about," said Hasty.
