GROSSE POINTE WOODS (WWJ) - A foot pursuit through residential yards ended with the arrest of a suspect in a robbery at a Grosse Pointe Woods restaurant.
Grosse Pointe Woods police were called to the area of Mack Ave. and Littlestone Rd., Thursday afternoon, on a report that Garrido's Bistro & Pastry had just been robbed by a man in black clothing and a hoodie.
According to Det. Ryan Schroerlucke, a witness to the crime had chased the suspect out of the Bistro and down Littlestone before he was assaulted by the robber and knocked to the ground.
As officers arrived on the scene, they spotted a man matching the suspect's description, chasing him through yards. The suspect was apprehended within minutes, Schroerlucke said, in the area of Prestwick and Eastborne.
The suspect is being held without bond on several felonies. His name is being withheld at he awaits charges by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, expected Friday.
