(WWJ) Three people are in custody following a shooting on I-94.
Michigan State Police detectives were called to the eastbound lanes of I-94 near Michigan Avenue after shots rang out at around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon -- the second freeway shooting this week.
A man driving east told troopers that a suspect in a red car fired shots at him. The gunman then got off on the Livernois exit. No one was hurt. Troopers and detectives stayed along the freeway looking for evidence.
State Police said detectives were able to find the car overnight. Three suspect were arrested, and are expected to face charges.
Their names were not immediately released.
The gunfire comes a day after a woman was shot and killed while riding in a car on the I-75 ramp to Eight Mile. State Police said the victim was in a car that was exiting onto Eight Mile early Monday morning when someone in another car pulled up and started shooting.
The 37-year old woman died at the hospital. The man driving the car was also injured. Information about his condition is unknown.
