
ROYAL OAK TWP. (WWJ) - Police in Oakland County are searching for a 32-year-old man who fled after calling 911 and admitting to shooting at his girlfriend during a domestic incident.
The man called 911 around 2:15 a.m. Saturday and told police he had gotten into a fight with his 30-year-old girlfriend at a home in the 10300 block of Cloverdale in Royal Oak Township, along Wyoming Avenue just north of 8 Mile Road.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that an assault occurred between the couple, with the woman being the main aggressor. The pair separated and the woman got in her car when the man, a CPL holder, fired at her vehicle as she was leaving. She ran from the vehicle was not injured.
The woman was taken into custody at the scene and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
The man ran from the scene and Michigan State Police troopers are continuing to track him down.
The damaged vehicle was taken into evidence and the shell casings were recovered.
An investigation is ongoing.
