LANSING - The human remains found behind a vacant house by a cleaning crew have been identified as missing persons Danielle Steiner and her son Aubrey Hall.
Steiner, 34-years-old, and Hall, 5-years-old, have been missing since Steiner pulled her son out of school 13 months ago.
Police dug up a backyard of the house on Loa Street in Mid-Michigan after the remains were found.
The deaths are being treated as a homicide. Lansing police Chief Mike Yankowski calls the case "complex," saying the cause of death hasn't been determined.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Court records indicate that the boy's father was granted full custody of Aubrey in June 2018.
