ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - Call it the east side tire eater.
A massive pothole opened up on the eastbound I-94 entrance ramp from 10 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores Tuesday morning, leaving many drivers stranded on the side of the road.
Police were forced to close the ramp after at least 10 vehicles suffered damage.

February 5, 2019 Kevin Kirkendahl, of Eastpointe, was on his way to work when he slammed into the giant crater.
"I didn't see it at all. I was coming down the freeway and just hit it, boom, and then my tire goes out," Kirkendahl told WWJ's Charlie Langton.
A repair crew quickly came to the scene and patched the pothole.
The ramp has since been reopened to traffic.
