MOUNT MORRIS, Mich. (WWJ) - A man accused of killing a woman and hiding her body under a motel room bed near Flint is going to trial.
Aaron Thornton will be tried on charges of first degree murder and unlawful imprisonment in the death of 28-year-old Jessica Flood.
Police say Thornton, 36, killed Flood in June, during sexual intercourse at the Great Western Inn in Mount Morris Township. Her body was discovered five days later, stuffed under a bed, after a guest staying in the room complained of a foul odor. She had been strangled, according to officials.
Co-defendant Jennifer Harrington, 33, originally faced similar charges, but a judge found there wasn't enough evidence. Instead, she's facing trial on a charge of accessory after the fact.
The Great Western Inn has since been closed under the state's public nuisance ordinance.
