DETROIT (WWJ) - An investigation underway on Detroit's northwest side after a dead body was found near a business.
The discovery was made around 6:40 a.m. Friday on 7 Mile Road just east of Meyers Road.
According to police, a business owner was going to open up shop when he saw a man, between 35- and 40-years-old, inside of a gated parking lot who appeared to be unresponsive. Officers and paramedics responded to the scene and discovered the man was dead.
Police say it appears he had blunt force trauma and may have been beaten in the head. An autopsy is planned.
Other circumstances weren't immediately clear. At this time, police have no suspects.
