BEDFORD TWP. (WWJ/AP) - A Monroe County man who ran over and killed a brother and sister could end up spending three decades behind bars.
Raymond Reyome, 50, was sentenced Thursday to 11-and-a-half to 30 years in prison after pleading no contest to two counts of reckless driving causing death.
Prosecutors say Reyome was smoking marijuana last July when he lost control of his Ford F-150 and hit 13-year-old Justin Haun and his 16-year old sister Alyssa as they walked along Sterns Road near their mother's house in Bedford Township, southwest of Monroe. The siblings were taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where both died from their injuries.
A no-contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as one for sentencing.
