
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a gunman who shot into a vehicle that had several young children inside, injuring the driver.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Friday outside of the White Castle at the corner of Joy and Greenfield roads on the city's west side.
The 29-year-old victim told police he had walked out of the restaurant and entered his car when he heard two or three gunshots and realized he was injured.
After being shot, the man managed to drive to another location for help. He was transported to a nearby hospital along with two of the children in his vehicle, a 1-month-old boy and 1-year-old girl, who were checked as a precaution for possible exposure to shattered glass. The man was last reported in temporary serious condition. The children were reported as stable.
The suspect remains at large. No description was provided.
