(WWJ) An investigation is continuing in Commerce Township this morning after a man and his wife were found dead in a home on Timberlake, west of South Commerce Road.
Initially tight-lipped, the Oakland County Sheriff's Department later said it was a case of murder-suicide. Deputies were called to the home in the Shores of Glenwood neighborhood, after a friend of the man told police he got an email from the man saying he was suicidal.
When they arrived, deputies said they found the man's 49-year-old wife shot dead, and the husband's body in the bathroom. The 55-year-old apparently committed suicide by taking pills.
There will be autopsies today to determine the cause of their deaths.
WWJ's Charlie Langton reported the home is very large and on a treed lot, with quite a distance between neighbors. Neighbors are saying they they heard nothing and noticed only a sudden influx of police activity.
