The victim was outside his home when he was approached by the masked suspects in a neighborhood at around 6 a.m., according to police.

He was able to get away, running into the house where his mother came out shooting at the gunmen. The suspects fired back, fled and crashed into a fire hydrant in the area of 9 Mile Rd. and Hoover.

"Police got three of the suspects pretty quickly," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported. "But the fourth suspect had cops searching for about three hours or so until he voluntarily turned himself in."

Police said that fourth suspect, 17 years old, was brought to a police station by his father.

No injuries were reported.

The names of those in custody were not immediately released, with charges pending.
