MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) - Mysterious poop that was repeatedly found in a private swimming pool in Macomb County has finally been traced backed to a culprit.
Officials say they have identified the person who has been pooping in the Buckingham Woods community pool on Crusader Drive, off 23 Mile Road east of Romeo Plank Road in Macomb Township.
The Buckingham Recreation Facilities Association said the person responsible was caught on security video and identified as a resident of the neighborhood.
"This member will not be allowed to return to the pool for the remainder of the season," the association said in a letter to residents. "In addition, we are looking at the various options for restitution."
The suspect's name was not released.
The association previously said the suspect was deliberately defecating in the pool due to the frequency of incidents, but the question remains as to why. Residents tells WWJ the suspect was treating the pool as a toilet because he was apparently upset about paying the association fee to use the pool.
The pool will be open for the remainder of the season, now with two guards on deck to observe the facilities.
