
(WWJ) One person has been killed in a fiery crash on M-14 in Plymouth Township.
According to Michigan State Police, preliminary information is that a semi truck crashed into three vehicles that had slowed down or stopped in the eastbound lanes of M-14 near I-275, at around 9:30 a.m. Friday.
One of the cars caught fire, killing one person in that vehicle, police said. Thick black smoke could be seen from miles away.
No information was immediately released about the victim, and it's unclear at this time if anyone else was injured.
It's not known if the truck driver may face charges. Troopers remained on the scene through the afternoon investigating.
Eastbound M-14 was shut down between Haggerty and Sheldon Roads, with traffic being ramped off at Beck Road. The freeway reopened to traffic at around 5:45 p.m.
