(WWJ) The holidays are going to be extra happy for a lucky Michigan Lottery player who won $1.2 million playing Lotto 47.
The winning ticket — matching all six Lotto 47 numbers drawn Saturday: 02-04-08-09-17-28 — was bought at the Wayne Med Market, located at 417 South Wayne Rd., at Cherry Hill Rd., in Westland.
Michigan Lottery officials say this is the fourth time the game's top prize has been won in 2019.
In February, a player won a $2.5 million Lotto 47 jackpot with a ticket bought at the Uptown Bar on W. Front Street in Monroe; and, in August, a player won a $17 million Lotto 47 jackpot with a ticket bought at the Checkered Flag Party Store on M-33 in West Branch. Last month, a player won a $5 million Lotto 47 jackpot with a ticket bought at the D&W store on 28th Street SE in Grand Rapids.
The lucky ticket holder from Wednesday's drawing should contact the Lottery's Public Relations Division at 517-373-1237 to make an appointment to claim the prize at the Lottery headquarters in Lansing.
Lotto 47 tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.
Each Lotto 47 play is $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and that grows until someone wins it. Drawings take place on Wednesday and Saturday at 7:29 p.m., with tickets available for purchased until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
Officials say 97 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to vendors and retailers.
