(WWJ) A 21-year-old it man is facing felony charges, accused in a shooting outside a sports bar in Macomb Township.
Authorities say one shot was fired at the back door of the Hub Sports Bistro at 21 Mile Rd. and Garfield at around 2:20 a.m. Monday. A female staff member was walking out door when it happened, according to investigators, but was pulled back into the bar in time by another employee. A gun shot was heard just as the door was shut and a bullet was found in the door.
A second shot was fired at a patron’s silver Cadillac in the parking lot, but no one was injured.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, a man earlier threatened to "shoot up" the building after he was escorted out by security guards, and left in a red Honda.
A short time later, investigators say security video shows that man coming back to the bar in the same car and firing the first shot. He then drove away, officials said, but returned to the parking lot a second time to fire again.
Following an investigation, the suspect was arrested at his Macomb Township home. Deputies with a search warrant found a spent shell casing outside of the man's car and a loaded shotgun in the house, as well as the clothing he was wearing at the time of the alleged crime.
The man was booked in the Macomb County Jail on charges of Assault With Intent to Murder and Malicious Destruction of Property.
His name is being withheld pending a formal arraignment.
