DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police have launched an investigation into possible child abuse after a 9-year-old was apparently sliced on the city's east side.
The incident happend Saturday morning at a home on Hull Street near 8 Mile Road, just east of I-75 near the city's border with Hazel Park.
Police responded to the home on reports of a child suffering a possible stab wound and found the 9-year-old with a deep laceration. The child was transported to the hospital and was last reported in stable condition.
Other circumstances surrounding the incident, including how the child suffered the cut, weren't immediately clear.
The child's mother is said to be cooperating with police.
An investigation is ongoing.
