DETROIT (WWJ) - Police have released surveillance video of a robbery at a dollar store in hopes that someone from the public can identify the suspect.
The robbery happened around 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Family Dollar store in the 400 block of E. 7 Mile, just west of I-75 on Detroit's east side.
According to police, the suspect made a purchase and once the register was opened, produced a weapon and demanded money. The cashier stepped away and the suspect reached behind the counter and grabbed a handful of cash from the register.
The suspect fled the location on foot heading westbound on 7 Mile Road. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, 5'10" with a thin build and a goatee. He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a black skull cap, a dark-colored zip-up hooded jacket and black pants.
