(WWJ) - Who knows how to cut an avocado without slicing or stabbing their hand?
Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest avocado consumption days of the year in the US, according to The Wall Street Journal. Experts say 153 million pounds will be eaten at parties on Sunday.
But you better be careful cutting those things. Researchers at Emory University say avocado-cutting has caused an "epidemic of hand injuries," including stab wounds, lacerations, and tendon and nerve damage.
Some scientists say avocado-cutting is so dangerous, they want warning labels put on them.
Others say we need avocados that are specially engineered for safe preparation.
