(WWJ) The "Help Wanted" sign is posted in Hazel Park, for jobs in the marijuana business.
Common Citizen, a producer of cannabis products, is looking to hire and staff a new location ahead of opening a new store next month, located at 877 E. 8 Mile Road.
A job fair will be held in three tents outside the Hazel Park store from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, and Tuesday, Sept. 29.
They need up to 15 budtenders at the Hazel Park location, and at least 20 people to fill entry-level manufacturing positions at the adjacent cannabis processing facility.
The company is also planning to hire up to 100 people by the end of the year to work in its retail locations across the state, and its cannabis greenhouse in Marshall.
Common Citizen has locations in Flint, Battle Creek and Detroit, and is finalizing plans to open more locations statewide, including Lansing and Warren.
Everyone in attendance at the job fair will be required to wear masks and maintain a safe social distance before and during the interview process. "The City of Hazel Park has welcomed Common Citizen with open arms, and we are proud to create jobs and help improve the local economy in this vibrant community during these challenging economic times," said Michael Elias, Common Citizen CEO, calling the job fairs "a critical step toward expanding our highly qualified Common Citizen team in Hazel Park and beyond while maintaining our commitment to the safety, health and well-being of our customers, employees, future team members and our communities."
