(WWJ) A three-vehicle crash in Warren left a 16-year-old in critical condition and six others hospitalized.
Warren Police say officers were trying to pull over a teenage driver for speeding. In an attempt to get away from officers, the teen blew through a red light and smashed into a pickup truck and a semi; according to police.
It happened around 3:30 am Sunday in the area of Eleven Mile and Van Dyke.
Investigators tell WWJ the 16-year-old had to be pulled from the wreckage of the Jeep with the Jaws of Life.
Four other teenagers were in the Jeep also. They have non-life-threatening injuries including broken legs. The two people inside the pickup were hospitalized, but they are also expected to recover.
The 16-year-old is on a ventilator.
Police say an investigation revealed the Jeep had been stolen from Sterling Heights last week. Three handguns were also found inside.
