(WWJ) Woodward looks a little different this year, with the official 26th Annual Dream Cruise canceled over coronavirus concerns.

However, that didn’t stop all classic car lovers.

While the avenue is not nearly as packed as it usually is on Dream Cruise; you can still spot some chrome, steel and horsepower.

Our sister station, WOMC, is live streaming all the action from Duggan’s Irish Pub on their Facebook page until 4pm.

The Oakland County Republican Party is also hosting a MAGA Classic Car Cruise along the same route in support of President Donald Trump and senator candidate John James.

The board of the Woodward Dream Cruise Inc. voted in June to cancel the official event this year over fear of spreading COVID-19.

The event was started by late Ferndale resident, Nelson House, to raise money for a soccer field for youth in the community. Nine communities now take part: Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak, making it one of the largest cruising events in North America.

Organizers say they hope to be back in full force in 2021.
