Detroit Police Search For Suspect In Armed Carjacking

Carjacking Suspect
Detroit Police

(WWJ) Detroit Police are trying to track down a suspect in an armed carjacking during a car sale gone bad on the city's west side.

Police say the victim, 25, met up with the suspect (pictured above) on Tireman near Greenfield on July 15 to sell his black Ford Fusion.

The deal went south when the perspective buyer got in the Ford Fusion and tried to drive away, according to police.

Investigators tell WWJ the suspect pulled a knife on the seller, and then escaped in the car on Tireman, heading east.

Fortunately, no one was injured. The car was recovered about two weeks later.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 18-years-old, between 5'5" and 5'8", and "slim." He was last seen wearing a light-colored T-shirt, black shorts and a white face mask.

If you have seen him or know where he is, please call Detroit Police Department's Commercial Auto Theft at 313-596-2555 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
