Driver Gets Away On Foot After Crashing Into Detroit Police Cruiser

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities in Detroit are searching for a hit-and-run driver who took off on foot after crashing into a police cruiser on the city's west side.

Police say a 10th Precinct sergeant was driving south on Linwood approaching Blaine around 2:35 a.m. Saturday when and oncoming driver veered into his lane.

The sergeant narrowly avoided a head-on collision but was still struck by the suspect, causing his vehicle to be pushed into a building.

After the accident, the suspect exited her vehicle fled on foot. She remains at large. 

The sergeant was transported to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.
