DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after an elderly woman and her son were found dead inside a home on Detroit's west side Tuesday evening.
Detroit police say a neighbor called 911 and requested a well-being check after not seeing the neighbors for several days. When police entered the home, on American Street near Chicago, they discovered an 83-year-old woman and her 60-year-old son dead inside.
Authorities say there were no immediate signs of trauma or foul play.
The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
Investigators say a space heater was in use and the location did have electricity
Police are still investigating.
