SANILAC COUNTY (WWJ) - There's good news regarding a mother and daughter who were the focus of a police search in Michigan's thumb area.
After an endangered missing advisory was issued Friday morning, investigators said information came in that Sheldon and her daughter were seen at a business in Bay City over the past several days.
The search has since been called off.
"The Sheriff's Office was able to verify the information after receiving pictures from the store surveillance system. The photos were shown to family members and they confirmed it was Tara and her daughter in the photo. The family agrees with investigators that Tara and her daughter did not appear to be in any apparent danger or duress at the time the photo was taken," reads a statement posted Friday afternoon.
"The Sheriff's Office would like to thank all the law enforcement partners including the Michigan State Police for their assistance in this investigation and all the concerned citizens who called with potential information."
