(WWJ) A 4-year-old Michigan boy who was the subject of an Endangered Missing Advisory has been found safe.
Elias Joseph Krajenke of Elk Township was located with his mother when deputies pulled her over on Wednesday, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office.
The child was unharmed, and was in the process of being turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services late Wednesday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.
"We are pleased with the efforts put into the investigation by our staff and appreciate the assistance from Lapeer County and area agencies, as well as the public," Sheriff Garry Biniecki said, in a statement.
Earlier, Undersheriff Brad Ross told WWJ's Michael Cohen that investigators were "diligently searching," following up on tips and leads after the boy was reported missing Monday.
Ross said the boy's mother had not been cooperating with authorities, and that there's been an ongoing Child Protective Services investigation into the woman's household.
"The sheriff's office was tasked with assisting Protective Services with going out to the house to remove some children from the residence, on Aitken Road in Elk Township, in the evening hours of July 6th," Ross said. "And they were able to find that all of the children were there except for Elias Krajenk...He was not at the residence."
Ross did not say why the children were removed.
