(WWJ) Federal authorities have joined the search for a 1-year-old girl after her mother was found dead.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for Venessa Morales from Ansonia, a city in New Haven County, Connecticut.
According to the FBI, the toddler was last seen by family members on Friday, Nov. 29. Her mother was then found dead, having suffered apparent blunt force trauma, in their home on Myrtle Ave. on Monday. Dec. 2. Police searched the house but did not find Venessa.
Police suspect foul play in the mother's death, and believe the little girl may be in danger.
Vanessa was born on Sept. 7, 2018. She described a white female with brown hair and brown eyes; 2'2'' tall and weighing around 17 lbs.
