DEARBORN (WWJ) - Ford is now dealing with its first positive case of coronavirus.
The automaker says it was notified Monday that a worker in Building 5 on the Research and Engineering Center in Dearborn, off Rotunda Drive near Pelham Street, is confirmed with a case of COVID-19.
"Following protocols based on guidance from global health experts, we quickly investigated the matter to determine whether others at Ford were at risk so we could act accordingly, " a Ford spokesman said in a statement, adding: "We learned this person had not been at work between getting exposed to the virus and being diagnosed several days later. That means the colleague could not have transmitted the virus to others at work."
No further information on the worker was provided.
The announcement came the same day as GM confirmed its first case of coronavirus, in a worker at the Warren Technical Center.
