DETROIT (WWJ) - The holiday season is quickly approaching and in Downtown Detroit, it's "beginning to look a lot like Christmas."

A 60-foot Norway Spruce arrived at Campus Martius Park on Wednesday as crews began to set up the annual tree display ahead of the tree lighting ceremony in a couple weeks.

The tree lighting ceremony is set to take place on Friday, Nov. 22, from 5 p.m. until midnight. The tree will take center stage when DTE Foundation Chair Nancy Moody flips the switch on 19,000 multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights and hundreds of sparkling ornaments.

Detroit’s own GRAMMY-nominated artist Mayer Hawthorne will headline the event, which will also feature performances by the Detroit Youth Choir, World Champion Figure Skater and two-time Olympian Yuka Sato, and Olympian Miari Nagasu, the first American figure skater to land a triple axel at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
