DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a suspect who shot and injured a man who was driving on the city's west side.
The incident happened around 7:25 p.m. Friday in the area of Linwood and Hazelwood streets, a few blocks south of Joy Road.
Police say the 38-year-old victim was driving in the area when the suspect ran up to his vehicle and opened the driver's side door. The victim pulled off and the suspect fired shots at his vehicle, striking him in the body.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and was last reported in temporary-serious condition.
Other circumstances, including a possible motive, remain under investigation.
The suspect is described as a black male with braids, wearing a black jacket.
