SHELBY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Shelby Township police have launched an investigation after an off-duty officer found a hidden camera in a tanning salon.
Investigators say the small camera was found in the wall of one of the tanning rooms at the Chili Peppers Tanning Salon on Van Dyke near 25 Mile Road around 7:40 p.m. Friday.
Police aren't sure how long the camera has been hidden inside the wall. It's unclear if the camera was recording or live-streaming images.
The investigation is just starting, but anyone who may have information about the camera should call Shelby Township police at 586-731-2121.
Police said only one camera was located, though reports indicate multiple cameras were discovered.
More information is expected to be released next week.
